My husband calls a coyote howler his secret weapon to get a gobbler to locate, when nothing else will work. It is his last resort to get one to gobble. Some other people use one but it is rare. I have hardly ever seen a time when we couldn't get one to give up its location. He usually doesn't do it for a morning locate for fear of the bird shutting up quick with a coyote around. We have used it of the morning and still been successful. Generally he uses it the night before to know where to set up the next morning. I promise when you have tried it all just howl and see what happens. He either does one long howl or a couple of yelps first then a long howl.

She knows what she's talking about. I've seen it work many times.

I have used a "wounded" rabbit preditor call with great success in getting that location gobble going in the morning. Haven't gotten close enough to stick one yet but I'm working on it.
