Time
Turkey
season is almost upon us. Here in Texas Turkey season will run from
March 29, through May 4, in part of the state and from April 5, through
May 11, in the rest of the state. There will be plenty of time to get out
there and arrow an old long beard so start getting ready.

Now
is the time to be out practicing and preparing your game plan. The
vital zone on a turkey is a lot smaller than on big game animals so your
shot must be perfect.
Now
is the time you might want to consider purchasing new equipment! One
of my favorite pieces of gear for turkey hunting is my Double Bull
blind. I hunt out of a T5 series blind and I love it! It is
lightweight and sets up easily. The blind conceals your movement so
you can reach full draw and not get busted by that wise old tom with eyes
in the back of his head. You do not have to brush the blind in to
hunt turkey out of it. Just pop it up, throw out some decoys and you
are in business.
If
you do decide to purchase new gear before turkey season be sure and learn
how to use it way before season. I found out the hard way you just
can't buy something and start using it in the field.
